BABYLON AWARD
BEST YOUNG TRANSLATOR'S AWARD
The "BABYLON" AWARD awarded to the best young translator aims to encourage and support young translators and promote highest quality in literary translation from European languages into the languages spoken in our country.
The award is awarded to young translators under the age of 26, citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia, who translate from the official languages of the European Union into the languages spoken in the country. The award is organized as a competition: the candidates send translations of excerpts from prose literary works of their choice (3000 to 5000 words) which are reviewed by expert committees. According to the criteria of the competition, the works should initially be published in an EU member state in the last three years before the deadline for submission of applications and should not have been previously translated into the target languages.
