Irena is a professional conference interpreter, translator, editor/proof-reader and T@I consultant with over 25 years of experience. Irena has interpreted over 600 conference days and translated over 45,000 pages. She specializes in law, politics/government, democracy incl. human rights, asylum, migration, rule of law, law enforcement and antiterrorism; EU policies, EU enlargement; economy and international trade, finance, environment and renewable energy resources, website localization, and works in a number of other areas. Irena was among the official interpreters during Macedonia’s accession negotiations to the World Trade Organization. She is also a Sworn Translator and Interpreter accredited by the Macedonian Ministry of Justice. Irena is founder and the First President of the Macedonian Association of Translators and Interpreters, Coordinator of MATA’s WG on Standards, one of the authors of the Best Young Translator Award BABYLON and president of Babylon’s first organizing boards, organizer and speaker at MATA annual conferences.
